Intelligent GK is proud to partner with Pontardawe Town Academy, nurturing the next generation of goalkeeping talent since June 2022. Our dedicated coaches, Thomas James and Mark Smith, work closely with academy goalkeepers to develop their skills and confidence.

Building Champions: Our ApproachAt Intelligent GK, we believe in a comprehensive training approach that addresses all aspects of goalkeeping. Our curriculum at Pontardawe Town Academy is designed to:
  • Refine Technical Skills: Through drills focused on shot-stopping, communication, and distribution, we equip goalkeepers with a strong technical foundation.
  • Develop Tactical Awareness: Scenario-based training and complex drills help goalkeepers anticipate situations and make informed decisions on the pitch.
  • Nurture Confidence & Communication: Our coaches foster a positive learning environment where goalkeepers can build confidence and hone communication skills, crucial for commanding the penalty area.

Mason (U9): From Pontardawe to Swansea City!

Mason's journey is an excellent example of the rapid progress achievable through hard work and the right training environment. After just one season at Pontardawe Town Academy, his dedication and passion for goalkeeping caught the eye of Swansea City Academy, securing him a coveted spot in their program. This is a fantastic achievement for Mason, and we're thrilled to have played a role in his development.

Nat (U16): Stepping Up to the Senior Team 

Nat's story is truly inspiring.  At just 16 years old, his exceptional skills and dedication earned him the starting goalkeeper position for Pontardawe Town Academy's 1st team competing in the Cymru South league. This incredible feat showcases the exceptional talent emerging from the academy and the effectiveness of the training program.  We're incredibly proud of Nat's accomplishment.

Under 13 Called Up to Cymru Tier 2

The partnership's success is evident in stories like Connor's (U13) call-up to the Wales Tier 2 squad for the Cymru Cup. This achievement reflects the dedication of both the academy and Intelligent GK's training methods and the hard work and dedication of Connor
