COMPLEX TRAINING
Our complex training section makes use unique, as we look to provide our goalkeepers with opportunities for the goalkeepers to make decisions in realistic situations that are fun, creative and meaningful.
We are one of a handful of coaches worldwide that use scientific evidence from the most elite goalkeeper coaches and researchers such as Fabian Otte and Anthony White.
Type of Training
Youth Development
This will focus on allowing the goalkeepers to develop their decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment.
Foundation Phase
Looks to introduce decision-making opportunities in a fast-paced environment. This prevents goalkeepers from creating bad habits that can occur from traditional training methods.

Players look to score a ''touch down'' in the opposition ''end zone''. Players are conditioned to netball rules regarding movement with the ball and distribution methods

Learning Intentions
Technical: For the goalkeepers to develop their ability to catch various types of high balls against opposition and their throwing ability.
Physical: For goalkeepers to develop their ability to jump high for various high balls
Social: For goalkeepers to develop their ability to communicate with teammates effectively.
Psychological: For goalkeepers to develop their mental ability to deal with physical contact and keep their focus.
Tactical: For goalkeepers to develop their awareness around the speed of the ball while passing.
Success Criteria
All goalkeepers will get opportunities to; catch and throw the ball against the opposition.
Most goalkeepers will be able to understand the importance of the type of pass
Some goalkeepers will be able to understand the importance of watching the ball and the players around them when competing for high balls.
Coaching Points
Key coaching points shall be around the goalkeepers' ability
to throw the ball over-arm, and the ability to catch high balls.
Feedback
The coach shall communicate over the session the positive actions done by the goalkeepers and stop the practice when appropriate to highlight areas to improve or positives that should be shared.
Complex Training for Defending the Goal
Don't Concede Handball 1.1
Goalkeepers in teams will look to score in one of the opponents' mini goals. Netball rules are in play with the distribution of the ball and the movement of players.
Don't Concede Handball 1.2
Goalkeepers in teams will look to score in one of the opponents' mini goals. Netball rules are in play with the distribution of the ball and movement. However, goalkeepers can volley to shoot.
Don't Concede Handball 1.3
Goalkeepers in teams will look to score in one of the opponents' mini goals. The ball is to be played on the floor. Goalkeepers can only handle the ball in their own half of the pitch.
Don't Concede MiniGame 1.4
Goalkeepers in teams will look to score in one of the opponents' mini goals. The ball is to be played on the floor. Goalkeepers can only handle the ball in their own GK Area.
Don't Concede Handball 1.5
Goalkeepers in teams will look to score in one of the opponents' mini goals. Netball rules for the movement of the ball to pass and the movement of players while the ball is in their hands. Goalkeepers must complete a volley to shoot.
Don't Concede MiniGame 1.6
Goalkeepers in teams will look to score in one of the opponents' mini goals. The ball is to be played on the floor. Goalkeepers can only handle the ball in their own GK Area.
Complex Training for Effective in Possession
These can be completed with many adjustments based on the exact focus within distribution
Warm Up: Narrow Handball/ Game
A narrow pitch with force the goalkeepers to look for spaces between defenders or go over the top. The handball version is great for working on dealing with balls too.
Warm Up: Wide Pitch Handball/ Game
Goalkeepers can not only move the ball around the circle.
Warm Up: Volley Large Pitch Handball
Goalkeepers will be tested on their ability to find teammates over larger distances.
